10 Years of Spain Grant

campers_girls

Summer camp is just around the corner and registrations are tracking at pre-pandemic levels.  We are excited to have a “normal” summer because we know that campers need Christian fellowship and God’s creation more than ever.

A return to full activity also means more campers in need. The Spain Grant program helps campers in need to come to camp for just $50. We don’t ever want a kid to miss out on camp because the family can’t afford it.

There have been many blog posts written about the Spain Grant and why it is such a critical part of our Summer Camp program. To read some of them, visit the links below.

If you contribute, you know you’ll be impacting a child who would not be able to come to camp without your help.

One camper that was able to come to camp and have a life changing impact because of Spain Grant is Misty.

Misty grew up with her grandmother because her parents were unable to care for her. Her aunt brought her to church, where she was introduced to Camp Pecometh. She came every year, eventually doing both Director’s Leadership Week and Staff-in-Training. Then she worked on summer staff. I talked to Misty recently and she shared what camp meant to her:

“I love camp! It’s been such a big part of my life.  Growing up there were a lot of struggles. When I went to camp, I genuinely felt at home and was happy. Camp helped me with my faith journey.”

Misty not only learned love and acceptance at camp, she learned responsibility and leadership skills. This month, Misty will be the first person in her family to graduate from college. After graduation, she’ll start as an Associate Systems Engineer on the Northrop Grumman Flight Operations Team.

Your support for the Spain Grant Program makes a difference for campers like Misty. Please support it generously. Thanks!

Even small gifts add up to life-changing experiences for campers in need!
