Welcome Summer Staff!

Working, Serving, and Learning at Pecometh

Working at Pecometh is far more than just a job.
It's living and working within a community of believers who are committed to serving God, our guests, and each other as we fulfill our mission to provide hospitality and programming that promote God-inspired life-changing experiences through retreat ministry, outdoor programs and summer camp.

Your passion to serve God is important to us. If serving God this summer is on your "to do" list, and you want to have a great time doing it, Pecometh may have a position for you! We have a variety of positions available including counselors, lifeguards, instructors, maintenance and support staff.

Learning is a life-long process that continues after school is out. We believe that your role at Pecometh is to guide campers and provide a safe environment where children and teens grow in their knowledge of God, themselves and each other. The director's role is to provide leadership and direction to the summer staff through experience, training and fellowship.

Summer Staff Employment

You will be part of an outdoor ministry team consisting of approximately 75 paid staff that work to fulfill our mission and purpose. Choosing to join the summer staff is a huge commitment because it challenges you to give up your personal time and space, a concept that is almost foreign in our modern culture. Working, serving and learning at Pecometh will be a God-inspired, life-changing experience once you make the decision to open your heart to the call of Christ.

Pecometh Summer Benefits Package: The Total Picture

It is important to view the total picture when making employment decisions. For most of the staff, summer begins with a week of mandatory training followed by eight weeks of camp and the possibility of adding a ninth week of Day Camp at the end. So, that's basically a ten week commitment.

Benefits Package Includes

  • Competitive Salary

  • Bonus Pay (equal to one week's pay) awarded at the end of summer for no days missed

  • Up to one week off of un-paid vacation/personal time

  • $500 - $1000 value in professional training available

  • Health and accident insurance, room and board

  • Great work experience

  • Build relationships with other Christians the same age as you

Why work at Camp Pecometh?

We offer college-aged youth, 18 and older, the opportunity to work with campers in a Christian environment, sharing your experiences and helping them grow spiritually. It is also a great place to meet other staffers who share your Christian beliefs and the love of children. Lifelong friends are made at Pecometh, and the rewards are long-lasting. The experience and recommendation can be a great addition to your resume, and your school may also recognize camp internships.

What are some of the other benefits of a summer at camp?
Besides the friendships you'll make and the satisfaction of making the summer special for your campers, there's lots of good things included in your salary package. They include housing and meals, laundry facilities, a camp Trading Post and Canteen, and usage of the camp facilities, such as the pool and canoes. You also have use of the Staff Lounge in your off time, which has a television, VCR, DVD telephone, and lots of space to "hang out". What a great way to spend a summer!
