Outdoor Programs at Pecometh

Our wide variety of outdoor programs enables our guests to fully experience the beauty of Pecometh. Activities can be purely recreational or can be focused on meeting specific retreat objectives.

Whether it’s a day meeting, picnic, youth retreat or adult retreat, we can help you to get the most out of your time at Pecometh.

Facilitated Outdoor Activities

These activities are facilitated by Pecometh Staff, and must be scheduled ahead of time. 

Swimming Pool

Swim and slide in our pool!  Our certified lifeguards supervise swimmers while they have fun in the sun. Cost: $5 per person, with a minimum of $150 for groups up to 25 people;  Group Size: 100 maximum            Available: Memorial Day – Labor Day .  All children not toilet trained are required to wear a swim diaper. 

Canoeing, Kayaking, & Paddle Boarding

Paddle the flat water of the Chester  River!  Our instructors supervise and ensure the safety of your group’s canoe experience.

Cost: $5 pp; $100 minimum charge

Group size: 2 hours of waterfront activity per session / 20 people max per session

Available: June 1 – September 30

Ages: 10 years and older.

Guided Canoe Trips

For those who would prefer a more structured canoe or kayak experience, our instructors will facilitate a short, guided trip on the Chester River with opportunities for environmental/spiritual applications. Canoe or Kayak games and challenges are also an option.

Cost: $7 pp; $100 minimum charge

Group size: 2 hour session / 20 people max per session

Available: June 1 – September 30

Ages: 12 years and older.

Challenge Course

Explore the power of teamwork! Professional facilitators guide participants during this adventurous experience for adults and youth. Click here for more information on our Challenge Course Program.

Cost: $49 pp; $550 minimum

Group size: Minimum of Six

Available: year-round

Ages: 10 yrs and older.

Wagon Rides

Relax and have fun on a good ole’ fashion Wagon Ride pulled by one of our camp vehicles.

Cost: $5 pp; $60 minimum

Group size: 1 hour ride per session / 30 people max per ride

Available: year-round

Ages: all ages.

Splashdown

Climb, slide & jump on this awesome river playground! Our staff oversees safe operation of the Splashdown experience.

Cost: $15 pp; $200 minimum

Group size: 1 1/2  hours of Splashdown /  20 people max per session

Available: June 15 – August  9

Ages: 10 years and older.

Climbing Wall

Test your climbing skills on our 35′ wall!  Our staff will provide climbers with all safety gear  and supervision to ensure a safe climbing wall experience.

Cost: $40 pp; $550 minimum

Group size: 2 hours of climbing per session/ 20 people max per session

Available: year-round

Ages: 10 years and older.

Climbing Wall and Zipline

Recreational climbing and Zipline facilitated by trained staff.  Our staff will provide climbers with all safety gear  and supervision to ensure a safe climbing and zipline experience.

Cost: $45 pp; $550 minimum

Group size: 3 hour session / 15 people max per session / call for details for larger groups

Available: year-round

Ages: 10 years and older.

Camp Games

Play non-competitive games just to have fun & build community! Our staff are experts at leading these games.

Cost: $15 pp; $200 minimum charge

Group Size: 2 hours of Camp Games / 30 people max per session

Available: year-round

Ages: 10 years and older.

Archery

Try your hand at the old world sport of archery facilitated by trained staff.

Cost: $5 pp; $100 minimum charge

Group Size: 1 hour session / 12 max per session

Available: May 1 – Sept 30

Ages: 10 yrs and older

Free Activities

These activities are available to all guests free of charge. 

Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer

Our fields  and courts are conveniently located for your enjoyment. Sports equipment is available in all retreat houses.

Hiking

Walk on a forest path, a winding country road or along the edge of a field! Ask for a trail map.

Fishing

Cast your line and unwind while  enjoying one of the Eastern Shore’s favorite past-times.  Bring your own bait and fishing gear; MD State fishing license required.
